Sony has sparked excitement among gamers by teasing its highly anticipated PlayStation 5 Pro in a recent 30th-anniversary post. The company, while celebrating its iconic characters and stories, shared an official image containing a subtle teaser for the new console.
This teaser seems to confirm earlier leaks that suggested a PS5 Pro is on the way, featuring a new design with three distinctive black stripes—an upgrade from the single stripe found on the current PS5 “Slim” model.
The leaked design first appeared in sketches based on actual packaging for the PS5 Pro, and the teaser image seems to align with these reports. This new design hints at a significant aesthetic change, as well as the possibility of enhanced performance capabilities.
One of the most anticipated features is RDNA4-based ray tracing technology, which promises improved graphical fidelity and realism.
Though the official launch date remains unconfirmed, rumors are circulating that Sony might hold a special event in late September 2024 to reveal the PS5 Pro. Sony has hinted that more announcements are coming soon but has not yet disclosed whether these will pertain to new hardware or upcoming game titles.
