Samsung Galaxy A56 Spotted on Geekbench With Exynos 1580 Running on Android 15

Samsung Galaxy A56, powered by the Exynos 1580 and running Android 15, targets mid-range users with performance upgrades.

Samsung is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy A56 as a successor to the A55, the top-tier non-flagship phone, likely in early 2025. According to multiple reports, including Geekbench listings, the device will feature Samsung’s brand-new Exynos 1580 SoC and come equipped with Android 15, a combination aimed at boosting both performance and efficiency.

The Galaxy A56 performed well on the Geekbench 6.2.2 test, with a single-core score of 1,339 and a multi-core score of 3,847. These numbers reflect a marked improvement over its predecessor, the Galaxy A55, and place the A56 in competition with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor.

The Exynos 1580 is a significant upgrade over the A55’s Exynos 1480. This chipset features an octa-core architecture: one prime core clocked at 2.91GHz for high-performance tasks, three mid-performance cores at 2.60GHz, and four efficiency cores at 1.95GHz for everyday tasks and energy-saving performance.

Samsung Galaxy A56 Details

Reports indicate that the Galaxy A56 will likely feature 8 GB of RAM, offering more than enough memory for smooth operation across apps and multitasking scenarios. While details about storage options are yet to be confirmed, the device is expected to come with multiple variants, likely starting from 128 GB and supporting expandable storage via microSD.

The Galaxy A56 will run Android 15 out of the box, bringing the latest OS features, security updates, and UI improvements to users. Android 15 is expected to improve system performance, enhance privacy controls, and bring new AI-driven features. This makes the A56 one of the first mid-range Samsung devices to embrace the new OS.

Although specific details about the design are scarce, the Galaxy A56 is expected to follow the Galaxy A series’ sleek and modern design philosophy, featuring a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
