iQOO 13 Display

The iQOO 13 offers a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3186 pixels (2K), a step up from the 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen on the iQOO 12. It achieves a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, making it ideal for HDR content and outdoor usage, while the iQOO 12’s peak brightness is rated at 1,300 nits.

The 144Hz adaptive refresh rate remains consistent across both models, but the LTPO implementation in the iQOO 13 allows dynamic adjustment from 1Hz to 144Hz, optimizing battery life during low refresh rate scenarios.

iQOO 13 Performance and Chipset

The iQOO 13 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, fabricated on a 3nm process node. This architecture provides a significant boost in computational efficiency and thermal management compared to the 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the iQOO 12. The Snapdragon 8 Elite integrates faster CPU and GPU cores and improved AI processing, resulting in a higher AnTuTu benchmark score (3 million+ for iQOO 13).

Additionally, the iQOO 13 features the Q2 supercomputing chip, which enhances frame rate upscaling and gaming performance. Its large 7,000 sq mm vapor chamber aids in maintaining optimal thermal conditions during high workloads.

Memory and Storage

Both models use LPDDR5X RAM and UFS storage, but the iQOO 13 supports the newer UFS 4.1 standard for faster read/write speeds, compared to UFS 4.0 in the iQOO 12. The iQOO 13 is available in configurations of up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, matching the maximum capacity of its predecessor.

iQOO Camera Setup

The camera system in the iQOO 13 sees a technical overhaul. It features a triple 50MP setup, consisting of:

  • A Sony IMX921 primary sensor with optical and electronic image stabilization for improved low-light and stable video performance.
  • A 50MP ultrawide camera with higher resolution and a broader field of view compared to the iQOO 12’s 13MP ultrawide lens.
  • A 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, offering enhanced portrait photography compared to the 12MP telephoto sensor on the iQOO 12.

The front camera is upgraded to 32MP on the iQOO 13, from the 16MP sensor in the iQOO 12, supporting higher resolution selfies and video calls.

Battery and Charging

The battery capacity has been increased to 6,000mAh in the iQOO 13, up from 5,000mAh in the iQOO 12. Both phones support 120W FlashCharge, enabling ultra-fast charging. However, the iQOO 13 also introduces 100W PD/PPS support, providing greater compatibility with third-party fast chargers.

Build and Durability

The iQOO 13 has IP68 and IP69 certifications, offering resistance to dust, splashes, and immersion in water—a feature absent in the iQOO 12. Both devices feature robust builds, but the iQOO 13 emphasizes durability for users requiring rugged performance.

Software and Update Support

The iQOO 13 runs Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15, while the iQOO 12 launched with Android 13. iQOO promises four years of major OS updates and five years of security patches for the iQOO 13, an upgrade from the three years of OS updates and four years of security patches offered for the iQOO 12.

iQOO 13 Pricing and Availability

The iQOO 13 is attractively priced, given its premium features and flagship positioning. The base model, offering 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is priced at ₹51,999. For users needing more memory, the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant is available at ₹56,999.

Available in Legend Edition and Nardo Grey, the design caters to both enthusiasts of striking aesthetics and those who prefer understated elegance. The Legend Edition, inspired by BMW Motorsport, stands out with its vibrant stripes and bold patterns. Sales begin on December 10, 2024, for pre-order customers, with general availability starting the next day.
