Intel plans to extend the lifespan of its Socket LGA1700 platform with a new processor codenamed “Bartlett,” despite the anticipated arrival of the newer LGA1851 platform and the Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake” processors in late 2024. This information comes from a leak by Jaykihn.
The “Bartlett” processor will be based on the “Raptor Lake-S” architecture, but with a significant twist: it will feature only P-cores (performance cores), replacing the E-cores (efficiency cores) found in previous models. This design will result in a 12-core processor composed entirely of P-cores, appealing particularly to gamers.

The specific P-core architecture for “Bartlett” is still uncertain. It could be the existing “Raptor Cove” cores or a backported variant of the “Lion Cove” cores adapted for the LGA1700 socket. This wouldn’t be Intel’s first pure P-core processor; the “Alder Lake” H0 die also featured only P-cores.
Intel plans to launch a new series of processors for the LGA1700 platform using its latest nomenclature. These processors will fall under the Core 200-series without the “Ultra” branding and will include Core 3, Core 5, Core 7, and Core 9 models. The “Bartlett” processors will be distinct within this series and likely identified by a specific letter in the model number.
Notably, there will be no Core 3 chips based on “Bartlett.” Instead, the Core 5 series will feature 8 P-cores, the Core 7 series will have 10 P-cores, and the Core 9 series will offer 12 P-cores. These configurations are expected to support 8-core/16-thread, 10-core/20-thread, and 12-core/24-thread, respectively, depending on the model.
The power consumption of these processors will vary based on whether they are K- or non-K SKUs, with base power values of 125W, 65W, or 45W. Intel plans to release these non-Ultra Core LGA1700 processors in the first quarter of 2025, with the “Bartlett” silicon debuting in the third quarter of 2025.
