AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 9000 series, based on the “Zen 5” architecture, promises significant performance improvements across the board. Recent leaks have revealed detailed benchmark results for three key processors in the lineup: the Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X.
Ryzen 9 9900X leaked benchmarks
The Ryzen 9 9900X, featuring 12 Zen 5 cores, is one of the standout processors in the upcoming “Granite Ridge” lineup. While it isn’t the top SKU, it boasts a substantial boost clock of up to 5.6 GHz, and even higher with XFR/PBO settings.
The first Geekbench score for the Ryzen 9 9900X has surfaced, showcasing a single-core score of 3401 points and a multi-core score of 19756 points. This makes it the highest-scoring desktop CPU in the Geekbench database currently.
In single-core performance, the Ryzen 9 9900X is at least 10% faster than the Intel Core i9-14900K. In multi-core performance, it is approximately 5% slower than the Core i9-14900K but already surpassing the Ryzen 9 7950X and 7950X3D, both of which have 16 cores.
Compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen 9 7900X, it is at least 16% faster in single-core and 10% faster in multi-core performance.

Ryzen 7 9700X leaked benchmarks
The Ryzen 7 9700X targets mainstream users with its 8-core, 16-thread configuration. It features a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.5 GHz, with 40 MB of cache and a low TDP of 65W, down from the 105W TDP of its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 7700X.
In Geekbench, the Ryzen 7 9700X scored 3312 points in single-core and 16431 points in multi-core tests. In single-core performance, it is 4% faster than the Intel Core i9-14900KS and 14% faster than the Ryzen 7 7700X.
In multi-core performance, the Ryzen 7 9700X delivers an 8% gain over its predecessor. The multi-core score is comparable to the Core i7-14700 and Ryzen 9 7900, both configured at 65W TDP.
The Ryzen 7 9700X excels in single-core performance, making it a strong contender for gaming and other single-threaded applications.
Ryzen 5 9600X leaked benchmarks
The Ryzen 5 9600X, featuring 6 cores and 12 threads, offers a base clock of 3.9 GHz and a maximum boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz. It includes 38 MB of cache and maintains a TDP of 65W.
In Geekbench, the Ryzen 5 9600X scored 3284 points in single-core and 14594 points in multi-core tests. In single-core performance, it is 15% faster than its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 7600X, and ahead of the Intel Core i9-14900KS in this benchmark.
In multi-core performance, the 9600X is 14% faster than the Ryzen 5 7600X. The performance is nearly on par with the Ryzen 7 7700 and faster than the standard Core i5-14600. However, the unlocked Core i5-14600K, which runs at a higher TDP, offers a 9% uplift in multi-threaded tests.
The Ryzen 5 9600X provides strong performance, particularly in single-core tests, which translates to noticeable gains in gaming and other applications.
